Business Name Registration
We assist on registering a business name in Cyprus with the Department of the Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver of the Republic of Cyprus, under the Partnership and Business Names Law.
A "business name" differs from a company or other type of entity. However, it entitles the person or the entity who owns a "business name" to operate and trade on the name of his/her/its' business name. Such "business name" can be independent and may also be registered with VAT authorities.
However, a business name does not give any IP rights to the holder of such business name. For IP rights to be protected, you will need to register a Trademark under the Trademarks Law (Cap 268) or under the relevant International and EU regulations and Treaties.
